Tour to Milestii Mici winery

Short description of winery complex «Milestii Mici»:

Dear friends! We would like to invite you to make with our help a trip into the subterranean wine town located on the territory of the wine factory “Milestii Mici”(to pronounce in Romanian “Mileshtiy Mich”).

This winery is notable for being the only Moldavian factory awarded with Guinness World Records certificate, since its wine collection is the largest in the world: 2 million of wine bottles are stored here (this is exactly the Golden Wine Collection of Moldova). The book of Guinness World Records can be bought for 600 Moldavian lei.

The first bottle dates back in 1969. Since that time the collection has been annually refilling. The bottles are kept in limestone niches with individual index number and brief information about the wine sort, establishing time and number of bottles. The whole “wine treasure” lies underground at the average depth of 50 meters in limestone galleries at the temperature +13°. The subterranean town Milestii Mici stretches along 55 km. You can travel by car through „boulevards“ and „streets“ of the wine kingdom.

The Milestii Mici wines include Pinot, Traminer, Muscat, Riesling, Feteasca, Dnestrovskoye, Milestskoye, Codru, Trandafirul Moldovei, Auriu, Cahor-Ciumai, Marsala, Utrenyaya Rosa, Nejnosti, etc. All these wines are produced according to the Moldavian traditions and preserved in peace and quiet at the depth of 70 meters.

The Milestii Mici wines are exported to the market of Russia, USA, Japan, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Belarus, and Ukraine.

After having got acquainted with the main sights of subterranean wine town and golden wine collection we invite you to visit the luxurious tasting halls. Cool ambience in summer and warm atmosphere in winter due to the huge fireplace. The tasting halls of Milestii Mici offer cosy atmosphere and elegant medieval castle design: forged items, stone and wood are harmonically combined here, emphasizing the Moldavian charm.

Important: the subterranean town can be visited only by car! During the excursion the participants are free to make short walks with guide (photos are allowed). One place in the car should be booked for the Milestii Mici guide.

Touristic project Transnistria Tour provides our guests with transportation during the excursion in the underground town of Milestii Mici.

Tour programm for the option Tiraspol-Milestii Mici-Tiraspol:

1. Transfer Tiraspol-Milestii Mici-Tiraspol.
2. Excursion in subterranean town and golden wine collection + Wine Tasting according to selected tasting level + Meal (each tasting level has its own dishes for the meal).

Tasting Levels (in total 7 Levels) with included menu of dishes to each level (each menu contains dry plums with nuts):

• Level №1 (duration 1 hour): 3 wine samples (white wine, red wine, desert wine) + snacks: bruschetta with squash cream, assorted meat, sheep cottage cheese, tomatoes), assorted placinte (traditional Moldavian pastry).
• Level №2 (duration 2 hours): 5 wine samples (white wine, red wine, rosé wine, desert wine, sparkling) + snacks and main course: chicken roll, pork, beef tongue, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, zeama (traditional soup), mamaliga (polenta) with chicken meat or porc, sheep cottage cheese.
• Level №3 (duration 2 hours): 7 wine samples (white wine, red wine, red wine from collection, white wine from collection, red dry wine from collection, desert wine from collection, sparkling) + snacks and main course: assorted fresh vegetables with sheep cottage cheese, assorted meat (chicken roll, pork, beef tongue), assorted placinte (traditional Moldavian pastry), chicken fillet wrapped in bacon with baked potatoes or potatoes with meat baked in pot + gift: 1 wine bottle.
• Level №4 (duration 2 hours): 7 wine samples (white wine, red wine, red wine from collection, white wine from collection, red dry wine from collection, desert wine from collection, sparkling) + snacks: assorted cheese (Dor Blue, Allgauer, Fetaki, Rossiyskiy), nuts + gift: 1 wine bottle.
• Level №5 (duration 2,5 hours): 7 wine samples (white wine, red wine, red wine from collection, white wine from collection, red dry wine from collection, desert wine from collection, sparkling) + snacks and main course: bruschetta with squash cream, assorted meat, sheep cottage cheese, tomatoes), assorted placinte (traditional Moldavian pastry), bean soup with smoked meat, pork ribs with baked potatoes and pickles or pork chest wrapped in pickled cabbage + gift: 1 wine bottle.
• Level №6 (duration 2,5 hours): 7 wine samples (white wine, red wine, red wine from collection, white wine from collection, red dry wine from collection, desert wine from collection, sparkling) + snacks and main course: assorted fresh vegetables with sheep cottage cheese, assorted meat (chicken roll, pork, beef tongue), assorted placinte (traditional Moldavian pastry), assorted cheese, sarmale (Moldavian cabbage rolls), baked pork leg with vegetables or baked salmon with mamaliga (polenta) and sheep cottage cheese + gift: 1 wine bottle.
• Level №7 (duration 2,5 hours): 7 wine samples (white wine, red wine, red wine from collection, white wine from collection, red dry wine from collection, desert wine from collection, sparkling) + snacks and main course: assorted fresh vegetables with sheep cottage cheese, assorted meat (chicken roll, pork, beef tongue), assorted placinte (traditional Moldavian pastry), assorted cheese, assorted fish, meat salad, baked sucking pig or beef languette with dry plums or baked rabbit + gift: 2 wine bottles.

1. Info: the price for 1 person on the weekend and holidays is 10 euro higher.
2. Info: After 5 PM from Monday to Friday, Milestii Mici wine complex can be visited by the groups of 5 and more persons. As for Saturday, we inform that the visiting requires notice 3 days before the planned visit. On Sunday, groups of 15 persons and more are accepted.
